In order to develop a stable laser wakefield acceleration (LWFA)-based accelerator and demonstrate FEL generation, the unique LWFA platform was constructed in the RIKEN SPring-8 center. Systematic experiments have been conducted, financially supported by ImPACT (2013-2018) and JST MIRAI (2018-) programs. The talk will be presenting the outline of the LWFA platform, the setup of a proof-of-concept experiment focusing on key improvements and obtained results.

报告人简介

Zhan JIN obtained his PhD in Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2006. He joined Osaka University as a postdoctoral researcher. In 2018, he worked at SPring-8 center, RIKEN, as a research scientist for one year. And he returned to SANKEN, Osaka University as an associate professor (tenured) in 2019. His research interests focus on intense, ultrashort laser-plasma interaction, in particular, terahertz radiation generation and laser wakefield electron acceleration.
