  会议地点:王大珩厅

  报告内容

There is a common understanding, that optics is an enabling technology. Consequently, in optics and photonics we face a huge variety of application scenarios and resulting modeling and design tasks. What does that mean for the theoretical foundations of optical modeling and design and the development of modern optics software? Answering this question leads us to the concept of interoperable optical modeling. We also address how distributed computing turns out to be a game changer in optical modeling and design.

The talk provides the basis for the discussion of specific application scenarios including, e.g., metalens design and modeling, ultrashort pulse systems, and AR waveguide modeling, in a Q&A session after the talk.

  报告人简介:

Prof. Frank Wyrowski is professor of technical physics at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena and head of the Applied Computational Optics Group.

He is a pioneer in the development of modern optical modeling and design software. His research and development work aims at making optical modeling software as accurate as needed and as fast as possible.

He was member of the board of directors of SPIE from 2003-2005. In 2013 he received the grade of a Visiting Professor of the Chinese Academy of Science as well of a Guest Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT).
