Abstract: A project by S.I. Vavilov State Optical Institute of a spaceborne fullerene-oxygen-iodine laser (FOIL) and a laser-optical system on its platform for conversion of the solar energy into the laser irradiation will be presented. High efficacy of FOIL with optical, inter alia solar, pumping is demonstrated. Issues presented are: drafts of solar energy concentrators basing upon membrane nanostructured composites alongside with studies of S.I. Vavilov State Optical Institute regarding diffraction optics and space optics test sets for the purpose of the interest.

Biography: Inna Belousova, Professor, Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics (1976 at S.I. Vavilov State Optical Institute), specialist in the fields of physical optics, laser physics, adaptive optics, nonlinear optics and spectroscopy. Laureate of state prize of Soviet Union (1980). I.M. Belousova is working in the field of laser physics since 1960. Since 1996 I.M. Belousova and her staff are carrying out investigation and development of nonlinear-optical materials on the base of fullerenes, and other nanostructures. At the moment I.M. Belousova is a head of scientific department "Nanophotonics” in S.I. Vavilov State Optical Institute and professor in ITMO University where she is giving a course of lectures on photonics of nanostructures. Author of more than 200 publications.
