Today, I will present a recently emerging field, dubbed “free-electron quantum optics”, which explores the strong-field physics of ultrafast electrons and quantum light. We demonstrated the wave-particle duality nature of both free electrons and light in Ultrafast Transmission Electron Microscopes, Dielectric Laser Accelerators (DLA), and Quantum Free Electron Lasers (QFEL). Also, I would present a synthetic lattice for free electrons that mimics Bloch oscillation, Rabi oscillations, and discrete Talbot self-imaging. Now, instead of atoms or photons, we have created an ultrafast free-electron synthetic dimension that can serve as a novel quantum simulation platform.
Biography
潘义明博士,目前是以色列理工学院的博士后研究员。潘博士于2016年在南京大学获得理论物理学博士学位,并在特拉维夫大学,威兹曼研究所和以色列理工大学做过三期博后研究。目前的研究方向主要集中在拓扑光子学(topological photonics and quantum simulation)和自由电子激光调控(ultrafast electrom microscopes, dielectric laser accelerators, and quantum free electron lasers)。潘博士目前多篇文章发表在高影响力的期刊上,包括PRL(2),Nat. Phys. (1), Nat. Commun. (2), Adv. Mater. (3), Light Sci. & Appl. (1) 和Laser & Photonics Rev. (2)等。
